Do you want to help shape the airport of today and tomorrow?

Stop dreaming and join our team!

To strengthen our People & Communication department, we are looking for a Learning & Development Manager.

Do you want to help shape an organisation where learning makes a tangible contribution to safety, compliance and business performance? As Learning & Development Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the Learning & Development function at Brussels Airport Company.

You will set the direction for L&D, lead the team and ensure that our employees have access to the right learning opportunities at the right time. You will safeguard the quality and reliability of our processes, systems and reporting, while ensuring that learning initiatives meet the concrete needs of our organisation. In doing so, you will combine a clear vision with a pragmatic and hands-on approach.

What you will achieve with us:

  • You assume overall responsibility for the Learning & Development function within BAC and define the team’s priorities and roadmap in line with the organisation’s objectives.
  • You lead, coach and support the L&D team, enabling them to provide high-quality, customer-focused and efficient services.
  • You develop and safeguard a clear learning governance framework, with well-defined roles, responsibilities, processes and quality standards.
  • You ensure the consistent monitoring and completion of compliance-related and mandatory training requirements.
  • You provide transparency through reliable reporting, clear ownership and effective agreements with the relevant stakeholders.
  • You translate organisational strategy and business needs into pragmatic and impactful learning solutions.
  • You oversee the entire L&D operation, including planning, administration, budgets and reporting, as well as the development, implementation and evaluation of learning products and programmes.
  • You pursue operational excellence and continuously improve L&D processes, systems, reporting and services.
  • You ensure that the Learning Management System and other learning tools are used effectively and provide reliable data.
  • You monitor relevant KPIs, identify risks and opportunities for improvement, and translate these insights into targeted actions.
  • You manage relationships with internal experts and external learning providers, safeguarding quality, timing, budget and user experience.
  • You advise and support managers and stakeholders on learning-related matters and encourage shared ownership of learning and development across the organisation.
  • You ensure that new L&D initiatives are implemented successfully and sustainably embedded within BAC’s day-to-day operations.

What sets you apart:

  • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Educational Sciences, Social Sciences or a related field, or you have equivalent experience.
  • You have extensive experience in Learning & Development and a strong understanding of L&D processes, learning governance and compliance-related training.
  • You have experience leading, coaching and developing a team and naturally take ownership and responsibility.
  • You have a proven track record of implementing complex initiatives and supporting organisational change.
  • You are familiar with Learning Management Systems, reporting and the data-driven monitoring of learning activities.
  • You are able to provide strategic direction while remaining comfortable in a pragmatic and operational environment.
  • You work in a structured and results-oriented way, with a strong focus on quality, processes and continuous improvement.
  • You are a strong stakeholder manager who can connect different needs and interests and translate them into workable solutions.
  • You communicate clearly, build support and bring others along in a changing environment.
  • Experience in a regulated, operational or safety-critical environment is a strong asset.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and have a good command of French and English.
